Competitive Cheerleading Places Third

Northwest competitive cheerleading girls, led by seniors Katelyn Loomis and Rebecca Hitt, fought hard and earned a solid score in all three rounds at Mason High School. With minor mistakes, the girls stayed in third place throughout the competition, while Charlotte placed first and Mason second. The Gymnastics team lost to Mason Wednesday night 106.675-99.9. They return to action Monday at St Johns before hosting Holt on Wednesday. Both meets are at 6:30pm.

Wrestling loses to Waverly 45-31

The Northwest wrestling team lost to Waverly 45-31 Wednesday night. Ryan Dula at 125 pounds, Alonta Chapman at 145, and Tristan Elkins at 160 each pinned their Lansing Waverly opponents to lead Jackson Northwest. Teammates Drew Rooney and Cory Hunter won by decision and major decision, respectively. They return to action Saturday at the Western Invit.
