Multiple Teams · Varsity Volleyball Sweeps Charlotte & Stockbridge

The Varsity volleyball team played host to Charlotte and Stockbridge on Thursday evening in a special event to Honor A Police Officer. They swept Charlotte in the first match with scores of 25-12 and 25-16. All 11 girls contributed to the win, with the hardest kill of the match going to Sami Peters and 3 solo blocks by Jozie Bontrager! The team combined for 22 kills, 6 aces, and 27 digs.
The Mounties continued their winning streak with a win against Stockbridge in two games with scores of 25–21 and 25–13. Leading the offense in the second match was Ella Bontrager with seven kills while Mallory Anspaugh and Meg Moffitt combined for 14 service points.
The Mounties head into the final weeks of the season with a 27-7-3 record, one of the best records in the past decade!
The lady Mounties are back in action next Wednesday against Marshall High School for our Staff Appreciation Night!

Multiple Teams · JV Volleyball Earns Two Sweeps in Tri

The Northwest JV Volleyball team hosted Stockbridge and Charlotte this evening. The Mounties played two solid matches and came away with victories in each, defeating Stockbridge 25-9, 25-19; then Charlotte 25-16, 25-22. Team stats for the evening included 43 kills (Cassie Jakubas 11, Anya Hedrich 9), 37 assists (Morgan Hanchett 15, Mary Crowley 12), 16 aces (Elyssa Eatmon 5, Mary Crowley 4), and 59 digs (Bree Burman 15, Elyssa Eatmon and Meg Swartz 12 each). Team record moves to 26-5-3. They will be in action again next Wednesday at home vs Marshall.

Girls Varsity Golf · Girls Golf Qualifies for States!!

The Lady Mountie Golf Team qualified for the Division 3 State Finals with a 391 at Reddman Farms Golf Course Thursday, finishing in third place out of 12 teams. Julia Lefere led the Mounties with a 92, the third lowest score of the day, to earn a Top Five Medal. Anya Frever shot 97, Maddie Miller 100, and Bryce Lewis 102 to round out the scoring. Multiple Teams · Freshman Volleyball Defeats Pennfield

The Mounties traveled to Battle Creek Pennfield and won in three games with the scores of 25-20, 23-25, and 16-14. The Mounties started out strong in the third match 7-1, but Pennfield battled back to 11-14. Maddie Neitzke served 5 in a row and the team fought hard for an exciting victory. Raina Cockream was also aggressive behind the service line logging 6 aces. Abbey Christner had 17 assists. Ashleigh Black had 3 kills and 1 block. Victoria Craft played great defense recording 10 digs. Maddie Neitzke led offensively with 9 kills.

Multiple Teams · JV Volleyball Loses to Pennfield

The Northwest JV Volleyball team traveled to Battle Creek this evening to face off with Pennfield.  The Mounties had a bit of an off night, losing in 2 games 13-25, 18-25.  The team recorded 10 kills, 4 assists, 3 aces, 4 blocks, and 31 digs in the contest.  The Mounties will be in action at home on Thursday as the host Stockbridge and Charlotte.

Multiple Teams · Varsity Volleyball Defeats Pennfield

The Lady Mounties were on the road tonight facing Battle Creek Pennfield in a league match that went four games. The team started off a little flat in the first game falling to Pennfield 13-25. However they bounced back and brought their energy taking the next three games 25–19, 26–24, 25–18.
Leading the Mounties with 12 kills a piece were Henly Sleight and Brooklynne Bevier. The Bontrager sisters were consistent at the net and each chipped in with 5 kills a piece.
Carsyn Sleight and Taryn Hendershot took 75% of the balls off of serve receive while Mallory Anspaugh converted those passes into 41 assists. Hendershot also made a miraculous save in the final game to fire the fans up more! Carsyn Sleight led the Mounties serving for 15 points off of 23 attempts with 4 aces. Anspaugh was 17-17 at the service line.
The Mounties who improve to 25-7-3 are back in action on Thursday at home in a Tri meet against Charlotte and Stockbridge. Hope to see you there!!!

Mounties News · 8th B Volleyball Results vs Western

The 8th Grade B volleyball team lost the first two games to Western by the scores of 19-25 and 18-25, then won the last game 15-9.  The leading servers were Khrystine Weesner, Mariah Latoszewski, Aspen Tapley, Savannah Anderson, and Madi Smith.  Aspen also contributed at the net with 3 kills.

Mounties News · 7B Volleyball Defeats Western

7th Grade B Volleyball won against the Panthers on Tuesday. The Mounties lost the first game 22-25, then rallied to win the next two 25-9 and 15-13. The team was led by the strong serving of Kristen Sallee and Kate Beebe, and the determined defensive play of the entire team. The team will travel to Coldwater on Thursday and to Manchester on Saturday

Boys Junior Varsity Tennis, Boys Varsity Tennis · Boys Tennis Defeats Leslie Tuesday

Congratulations to the Northwest tennis team for defeating Leslie last night, 5-3. The players have continued to improve throughout the season and last night’s win ended their regular season with success. They team will now prepare to play at regionals on Thursday.

The Mounties were led by Noah Woodruff and Tory Collard’s number 1 doubles win, 6-0, 6-0, and Logan Hilder’s number 3 singles win. Collin Inosencio and Stephen Jaracka had a great come from behind win in their number 3 doubles match. After they trailed 3-7, they rallied back to win 9-7. Leslie’s team forfeited 2 other matches. Wesley Mitchell and Sam Hibbs won an exhibition game, 8-3. Also, Sam Hibbs played tough at number 1 singles with a 2-8 loss to the regional’s number 1 seed.

Sophomore Brady Jones-Varsity Cross Country. Brady has been one of the top runners all season on the Men’s Cross Country team and improving on his 5000 meter time to 17:38 in this past weekend Stockbridge Invitational.

Sub Varsity Male Athlete:

Sophomore Kamrin Noon – JV Football. Kamrin gives great effort in individual drills, practices and games, very coachable. Does what is asked of him. Leads by example no matter the situation. Same effort if we are up or down in a game as well as all the practices. Excels in the classroom as well. Tries hard and asks questions for clarification. All A’s and B’s.

Sophomore Tera Faber – JV Volleyball. Tera is an important part of the JV Volleyball team.  She contributes at every skill in the game – she serves well, plays solid defense, and is a key offensive contributor.  She is always contributing in the key stats – kills, aces, and digs.  She provides a spark on the court with her unending drive and determination to help push her team to victory.  She has the respect of her teammates, as proved by the fact that they voted her as Co-Captain of the team. Although now sidelined with an injury, she has played a key role in the success of this team, and continues to cheer and encourage her team from the bench.
