The Golf Team Plays Well at the Onsted Quad Match Tuesday Notching 2 Wins
The Northwest Boys’ Golf Team played their first away event at the Onsted Quad Match on Tuesday missing out on sweeping the quad match by one stroke. Hillsdale Academy recorded at team score of 176 while the Mounties posted a 177. Adrian Madison scored 199 and Onsted a 210 for the varsity match. None of the other three teams have enough JV players to hold a JV event to, however the Northwest JV players played the same course and posted a solid team score with 213 as well.
Northwest was led by senior, Devin Kalis with a 42. Junior, Isaac Anuszkiewicz was one back at 43 and senior, Brenden Borowy was another stroke back with a 44. Junior, Tyler Richard, and freshman, Kamryn Banks, each posted a 48 to score for the Mounties.
Northwest JV players scoring were sophomore, Jake Swartz with 49, junior, Blake Bannerman and freshman, Hudson Maynard each fired a 52 and Jacob Cole carded a 58.
“The guys got the chance to play a course they hadn’t seen and they managed it well for early in the season. We were pleased to get 11 of our guys competing so we can really see what we need to work on.” said Coach Martha Cantlin.
