Northwest JV players scoring in their match were freshmen Maddox Grimes and Hudson Maynard with 50 and 55 respectively. Three other JV players each scored a 60.
“The wind picked up and the temperature dropped as we played and that was definitely a factor in our higher scores today.” said Coach Martha Cantlin. “Isaac played a very consistent round with 4 pars and 5 bogeys for the varsity, and Maddox Grimes posted his best round with a 50 for the JV team today. The rest of the guys struggled today with the course and conditions.”
The Varsity Mounties kick off I-8 Conference play next Tuesday playing in the first Jamboree of the season at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek. The JV team will compete on Monday at Cascades in the Jackson County JV Invitational playing 18 holes.
