Northwest Golfers Tee-Off the Season with a Win over East Jackson at Home

The Northwest Boys’ Golf Team hosted East Jackson in the opening match of the season on Wednesday at Hankerd Hills posting a 185 to 216 win.  After nearly two years since their last high school golf competition the two teams enjoyed the socially distance comradery that playing golf provides and unseasonably warm weather.

Northwest was led by senior, Devin Kalis with a 4 over par 40.  Junior, Tyler Richard carded a 47 while senior, Brenden Borowy and freshman, Kamryn Banks each posted a 49 to score for the Mounties.

“It was so great to start the season with the great weather and a win!  We have so many new guys playing high school golf for the first time and we were excited to see how well they did!” said Coach Martha Cantlin.

The Mounties are scheduled to play in away matches next Tuesday and Wednesday at Onsted and Eaton Rapids respectively.
