It was an important day for both squads as we traveled to Coldwater (2/11) to battle the always tough Cardinals. A win for the Boys would secure a second consecutive conference championship and the Girls needed a win to stay alive in the race.
The Boys took care of business by winning both team games and securing enough points to wrap up the match before heading to the Baker games. The win pushes the record to 11-0 overall and 10-0 in the conference. Congratulations Boys on becoming the 2019-20 I-8 Conference Champions!!! Leading the way was Cody Hall on games of 202 and 196 for a 398 series, followed by Damein Milliman (167, 193 – 360) and Ryan Wenman (191, 159 – 350). CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Things didn’t go as well for the Girls as the Cardinals remained undefeated and dropped our record to 7-3 and 6-3 in conference. Karrah Wiggins was our top scorer with games of 187 and 157 for a 344 series, followed by Kaylee Hall (136, 200 – 336), Gabby Grant (134, 145 – 279) and Olivia Tisch (157, 122 – 279).
Another positive that came out of the match is that we got another look at the Allen Oil Pattern which is the pattern that is used in the Conference, Regional and State Tournaments. We don’t see that pattern a lot during the season and getting more experience on it will definitely help us in the post season.
Only 3 conference matches remain in the season (2 for the Girls) starting with a HOME contest vs Lumen Christi this Thursday, Feb 13 – (3:30 pm at Jax60). GO MOUNTIES!!!
