Boys 7th Grade Basketball · 7th Gr. Boys’ Basketball “Black” Team Defeats Pennfield

Before the Thanksgiving Break, the 7th Gr. Boys’ Basketball “Black” Team won their third game of the season, defeating Battle Creek Pennfield on Monday (11/25) 32-26 and improving their record to 3 wins & 4 losses.

The Mounties had a strong start to the game led by Jaydon Penrod’s 6 first-half points, followed by Jon Quinn (season debut) with 4, Trenton Estey with 4, Andrew Harris scoring 3 points, and Cameron Parker with 2.  The Mounties’ solid “in-your-face” defense caused many turnovers giving them a 21-9 halftime lead. The lead was short lived as Battle Creek came out at halftime and went on a 10-4 run, closing the gap to 25-19 at the end of three quarters. The fourth quarter was more tightly contested, but the Mounties had just enough scoring and defense to seal the victory.

The Coaches’ award goes to Jon Quinn, for his hard work on the court and in the classroom and I want to give a big shout-out to the whole team for their solid effort for four full quarters to bring home the WIN!  Great Job Mounties!!!

The Mounties face cross-town rivals, Western at HOME on Mon. 12/2 – 4:30pm
