The Northwest Athletic Department is excited to announce Brooklyn Morgan as the new Varsity Girls Soccer coach for the 2019-20 season.
Brooklyn Morgan is a graduate of Western High School (2010), where she played as a 3-year Varsity starter. She also played club soccer for Jackson Rush. After graduating from Western, Morgan went on to play soccer at Spring Arbor University and studied Elementary Education. She is now a 5th grade teacher at Northwest Elementary.
During her time at Spring Arbor the cougars had a successful run. As a freshman, their team won the Crossroads League Conference, along with the NCCAA National Championship (2010-11). As a sophomore in 2011, Morgan stepped into the net as a backup goalkeeper for the cougars. She started all season, helping lead them to a record of 19-2-1. The cougars won the Crossroads League Conference and made their first Sweet 16 NAIA National Tournament appearance (2011-12). In her junior year, Morgan was back to the field as a center forward, tallying 18 goals and 10 assists. Morgan and the cougars accrued a record of 20-3-2, won the Crossroads League Conference for the 3rd year running, and made the NAIA National Tournament for the second year in a row, this time making a run to the Final Four for the first time ever in the programs history (2012-13). As a junior Morgan was named to the NCCAA All-Conference Crossroads League, and player of the week. In her final year as a cougar, the team had a record of 18-3-1, won the Crossroads League Conference for their 4th straight year, and made another run in the NAIA National Tournament, losing in the opening round. Morgan was named to the Crossroads League All-Conference team, and various player of the week appearances. Throughout her time as a cougar Morgan tallied a total record of 75-13-6, 4 Crossroads League Conference Championships, 1 NCCAA National Championship, and 3 NAIA National Tournament appearances.
Coach Morgan was the student coach for the Cougars during the 2014-2015 seasons where the cougars went 19-1-2, received another Crossroads League Conference title and made another run in the NAIA National Tournament.
As a coach, Brooklyn has been a varsity assistant at Western High School for the past 8 years. She has coached multiple age groups of young girls for Jackson Rush Soccer, from U14-U19. She is extremely excited to join Mountie Nation as the head coach. She has a passion for the game, as well as mentoring and developing young women.
