Northwest Golfers Saved Best Nine for Last on Senior Night
The Northwest Boys’ Golf Team played very well posting their lowest 9-hole team score of the season by far and their best in two years. Playing the annual match with Leslie on both team’s home course at Hankerd Hills, the competition was very good with Leslie edging the Mounties by just 2 strokes 169-171. This year we played a tri-match as Waverly also played and they were outmatched by both teams finishing with a 278.
The Varsity Mounties were led by junior, Logan Hilder who fired a 9-hole personal best two over par 38. Sophomore, Brenden Borowy carded a 43, junior, Marec Sackrider posted his personal best 9-holes with a 44, while freshman, Isaac Anuszkiewicz came in with a 46 to complete the scoring for the varsity.
The JV Mounties were led by, freshman, Hayden Luke with a 57. He was followed by freshman, Tyler Richard with 60, junior, Justin Jarosz with 68 and sophomore, Brenden Brafford with 70.
The Mounties will be in action on Thursday at Bedford Valley Golf Club competing in the I-8 Conference Tournament.
