Girls Freshman Basketball · Freshman Girls’ Basketball Lose Tough Game to Olivet

The Freshman Girls’ Basketball Team traveled to Olivet last night and lost a well fought game to the Eagles, 41-33.

The Mounties got into an early hole and found themselves trailing by 10 at the half.  Despite outscoring Olivet in the second half, Northwest would get no closer than the final 8 point margin.  The Mounties were led again in scoring by Julia Warneck with 12 points.  Warneck also led the team with 2 steals.  Chloe Hinkley played tough all night and had a great all-around game leading the team with 3 assists.  Hinkley also had 10 points and 5 rebounds.  Aspen Tapley finished with 5 points and Kaitlyn Fairley had 4 points and 5 rebounds.  Kaylee Reynolds (2 rebounds and 2 assists) made a beautiful pass to Madison Taylor who finished with a nice 10 foot bank shot for her two points.  Also, both Reynolds and Taylor provided a great spark on defense in the second half.  Bianca Bush had 4 rebounds and 2 assists and Kenzie Noon had 2 rebounds.

The Mounties travel to Coldwater next Tuesday (2/12) to take on the Cardinals at 4:00pm.
