The 7th Grade Boys B Basketball lost a hard fought battle on the road to Western 37-32. The Mounties fell behind early 13-8 after the first quarter but their tight full court pressure really made things difficult on Western during the second. Alec Christner, Wallace Hickman, Nolan Sargeant, Lance Hendrick, Kamryn Bank and Freddie Beuerle were tenacious with their full court pressure while Mitchell Connell and Alex Thrun battled for loose balls. The Mounties finished the first half with a 8-4 run and closed the gap to one by half time 16-17. The third quarter was more of the same with hard defense and timely buckets Alec Christner had a strong offensive showing with 6 points in the third leading to a game high 13 points and Wallace Hickman was all over the floor grabbing rebounds and steals that helped Northwest reach a 29-26 lead after three quarters. During the fourth the Mounties hot streak ended and the shooting went ice cold only mustering 3 points in the final frame. Seven of the Eight eligible members made scoring contributions but it wasn’t enough in the end. Coaches award goes to the entire team for their continued hard work and improvements they are making.
