Girls Varsity Softball · Varsity Softball Splits with Grass Lake

It was a split decision as Northwest Varsity lose the first game 6-2 and win 6-1 in game 2 against a mature Grass Lake team.
Game one was a tough adjustment for the Mounties to make against Senior pitcher Hailey Roy. Contributing the five hits for the Mounties was Autumn Toler, Kylie Rydjord, Bailey Cooper, Bryce Lewis, and Aaliyah Miller. On the mound in game one was Bryce Lewis to open giving up 3 hits and striking out 1 in her inning of work. Bailey Cooper pitched the 6 tough remaining innings striking out 7, allowing 7 hits, while walking one.
Game two was a different story as our Lady Mounties made needed improvements to 12 hits! Leading the offensive attack was Kaitlyn Pier going 3 for 4 while Bryce Lewis, Kayelyn Powell, and Casey Kennedy all contributed two hits a piece.
Bryce Lewis had an outstanding 5 innings on the mound striking out 3, giving up five hits while walking one. Closing the game was Bailey Cooper giving up two hits, striking out one, allowing only one walk.
The Mounties return to action Monday at home against a tough Onsted squad. #TheRise
