The Mountie freshman travelled to Coldwater on Thursday night and lost to the Cardinals, 33-22. Despite starting the game on the wrong side of a 9-0 score, Northwest battled back and played even with Coldwater the remainder of the game. However, the Cardinals quick start gave them the cushion they needed to come away with the win.
The Mounties were led in scoring by Raina Cockream with 9 points. Gabriela Koons played her best game of the year and finished with 5 points and 3 big, momentum changing steals.
Lucy Nurkka and McKayla Eldred each had 3 points while Rylee Trojanowicz was 2 for 2 from the line to round out the scoring for Northwest.
The Mounties are back on the floor Tuesday night when they travel to Hastings.
