All HS/MS practices & events canceled for Wednesday

Due to the continued snow and inclement weather the decision to cancel all High School and Middle School events and practices has been made for Wednesday. Please stay home and safe today. Any make ups for events have not been made and will be shared with coaches when decisions are made.

Varsity Girls Basketball defeats Marshall

The varsity girls basketball team traveled to Marshall on Tuesday night and secured a 50-43 victory over the Redhawks.  As always, Marshall was ready to play and gave the Mounties a fight.  After a slow start Northwest made a run late in the first quarter, fueled by 8 quick points from Morgan Hanchett.  The Mounties

JV Boys Basketball Battles Marshall

The JV boys basketball team hosted conference opponent Marshall Tuesday night, coming up short in the end losing 46-58. Offensively the Mounties were led by Dylan Leutz with 8 points and 5 assists.  Nolen Novak and Koby Castle added 8 points each.  Javier Campbell chipped in with 6 points, while Luke McCann had 5 points

Northwest Wrestling Sends 2 to MHSAA State Finals – Ford Field

The Mounties had a tough fight to the finals, Saturday at the Regional Tournament.  Two of the five Regional Qualifiers advance to the MHSAA State Tournament (3/6-3/7) at Ford Field. CONGRATULATIONS to Freshman; Zach Jacobs (140) & Adam Haselius (171)  Northwest had 5 wrestlers qualify for Regionals and 3 fell short of their goal of states.

NW Boys’/Girls’ Bowling Finish with 9 All-Conference Bowlers

It was a great day at the I-8 Conference Singles Tournament. We had 9 bowlers come away with honors. (Sat. 2/22) For the Girls, Kaylee Hall took first place for the Varsity Girls and by doing so, earned All-Conference! Gabby Grant finished 12th, Karrah Wiggins 13th and Olivia Tisch 14th, each earning All- Conference Honorable Mention.

Freshman Girls’ Basketball Hosted Olivet Monday Night

The Freshman Girls’ Basketball Team hosted Olivet on Monday night and lost to the Eagles, 20-55.  The loss drops the Mounties to 7-8 for the season.  Julia Warneck led the Mounties with 5 steals, 8 points & had 1 blocked shot.  Amelia Wolfe had 2 steals to go along with her 7 points. Trenidy Halm had 3 points

Jackson United Hockey Finishes Season with Loss to East Side

Jackson United Hockey ended their season last night (Mon. 2/24) with a 1-4 final score loss against East Side.  It was a hard fought battle, but East Side prevailed. 8th Gr. Girls’ Basketball Sweeps Coldwater

The Northwest 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball “Black” Team overcame a 6 point halftime deficit to win at Coldwater 27–24.  Giving credit to Kyliee Glaspie’s 14 second-half points.  The Mounties improved to 5–4 on the season.  Northwest struggled the entire first-half and managed to score only 8 points, trailing 8–14 at halftime.  However, their defense has continued to

7th Gr. Girls’ Basketball Sweeps Coldwater

The 7th Grade Girls’ Basketball Teams had their last home games of the season last night (Mon. 2/24) against Coldwater. The B-team was quite simply “relentless”.  They played a solid defensive game in the half-court which led to buckets by Brooke Grant, Kendra Glaza and Ka’Tasia Brown.  Every girl on the team was an offensive threat.  Madie Dixon,
