8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Loses at home to Coldwater

The KMS 8th Grade Black Basketball Team lost at home to Coldwater 33 – 42.  They fell behind early and trailed 2 – 10 at the end of the first quarter.  But they clawed back to take the lead 19 – 18 early in the third quarter.  The game was close most of the second half.  Coach’s Awards go to Brogan Buchler and Keegan Vowels.  Brogan scored 5 third quarter points, including a three-pointer.  Keegan also nailed a third quarter three-pointer to keep the game close.

The KMS 8th Grade Red Basketball Team lost at home to Coldwater 32 – 53.  The game was much closer than the final score indicated.  With only seven players available, the Mounties battled against a deeper, bigger, and faster Coldwater team for almost three quarters until fatigue set in.  The game was tied 19 – 19 at halftime.  Coach’s Awards go to Nolen Novak and Dylan Leutz.  Nolen led the team in scoring, played strong defense, and grabbed a lot of rebounds.  Dylan played some valuable minutes at point guard and was a spark plug on the court.
