Girls Track Selby Results: Shafer Sets School Record!!

Jackson County Selby:

The Northwest Girl’s High School Track and Field team had a great night at the prestigious Jackson County Elite Selby Invitational hosted by Jackson High School.  Leading the way for the Mounties was Sophomore Sydney Shafer winning the 300-meter hurdles in a new school record time of 46.71.  Eclipsing the previous record held by Denise Abernathy from 1998 with a time of 46.8.  Other athletes earning All-County included the 4×200 meter relay team of Carsyn Sleight, Brooklynne Bevier, Ashleigh Williams, and Sydney Shafer with a time of 1:49.82.  The time ranks them as one of the fastest in school history.  The team has one more meet as Junior Carsyn Sleight will be competing in the hurdles at the DII State Meet Saturday, June 3rd.
